Trust Me, This Is A Good One

Alright, listen. This is the time of year when naturally you evaluate who you are and how you are doing. It's like the entire world takes a step back to look at what a hot mess they are, and then resolve to change. So naturally that is what I have been doing (sometimes intentionally and other times not so much). Really though, I have been thinking a lot lately about this last year, and things I want to change in the year to come. Because for whatever reason there is something soothing about a clean slate. At the same time though I have been thinking about things from this year that I DON'T ever want to change. Because this year had some challenges (like each year does) but it also rocked! There were a lot of firsts that happened this year and I am ending it with a trillion and five hilarious and wonderful and cherished memories. So here it is ya'll...in no particular order.... THE TOP 13 THINGS FROM 2013 1. San Diego This year for Spring Break I go

Playground Rules

Today I took my kid brother to the park down the street from our house. We got there and I found a seat on a bench because he immediately ran off to start playing. Normally I would run and play with him but today I just sat and watched. Right away he started playing with these two little kids (a brother and sister) and I found myself almost being jealous of them as they ran around in an imaginary world that they all found themselves in together. They were playing and laughing and were instant best friends. As I sat there watching them run and play my mind couldn't help but wander a little bit. I thought about where I am at in life and little things that are daily experiences back at school. I thought about people in my life, and I thought about the many thousands of strangers I pass each day without even really knowing it. I thought about how hard it is for me to meet people and make friends at the age of 21, and found myself jealous of these elementary kids who were insta-friends

Recent Happenings At Home

So I made it home! It's been a week since I got here and I can't tell you how much I love that it was 70 degrees outside today! Ahhhhhhh! Heaven! Since I've been back I've done a lot of relaxing and hanging out. Nothing too crazy, but that's fine with me. I am perfectly content with reading a book all day or watching movies. It's my vacation, right? Here are some of the shenanigans I've been up too with the fam bam.  (After his basketball game!) (Alexis' face says it all..."No Mike, Crocs are not cool!" Haha we sent this to my neighbor since he loves his crocs!) (After his last cross country meet. I'm sure he'll be glad when I'm gone haha he's not a fan of all the pictures.) \\The nice picture// \\Reality// Lex and I then had to try our best "sorority girl" pose... This was the result. All in all it's a good week home! And the shenanigans will only continue.
